Bloom's Taxonomy Verb List
Benjamin Bloom, along with Max Englehart, Edward Furst, Walter Hill, and David Krathwohl published Taxonomy of Educational Objectives in 1956. The idea was to classify types of knowledge into categories with verbs identifying various skills in both the cognitive and affective domains.
In the cognitive domain, the lowest level is remembering. As students progress to higher levels they are then able to understand what they are learning, then apply it, analyze it, evaluate it and finally create something with their new information. For example, a first year Med student may be expected to memorize the systems of the body while someone nearing the end of their program should be expected to discover the source of an ailment and create an action plan for their patient.
